Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. Much more sturdy than other "squeaky" balls of this type. I love that they have an internal or covered squeaker, so I don't have to worry about my dog chewing it and swallowing a plastic squeaker. But ... what I find as a plus, my dog sees as a minus, since one of his favorite thing is to chew a ball until it stops squeaking. They come in a plastic net bag, which is very handy for storage also.
